“I’ve been playing with Rohit for a year and he’s an excellent player with top mentality. His biggest mandate is that he can stay relaxed where he needs it and show aggression when he needs it most,” he added.

Afridi also highlighted Rohit’s success as a Mumbai Indians skipper in the lucrative Indian Premier League, arguing that the Indian opening player has a mentality to be a strong leader.

“He’s a top player with a great shot selection and he has a mentality to be a good player leader,” he said.

Afridi has shared a locker room with Rohit while playing in the opening version of the discontinued IPL franchise Deccan Chargers T20 League.

Kohl’s decision to relinquish the T20 captain, Afridi said the 33-year-old man should quit the captain’s job and now focus on his beats in all three forms and enjoy himself.
