Canada finished with 1-3 men, while Finland scored their only goal with one of eight chances.

“We started out strong, but ran into minor penalty issues in another attempt to cheat a little,” Jenner, of Oakville, Ont., Said in a Hockey Canada press release. – We tightened things up and then we found a way to end with a strong tone.

The Finnish series was part of Canada’s preparations for the Beijing Olympics in February. It was also the national program’s first activity outside of North America since the 2019 World Cup in Espoo.

Canada has concentrated 29 women in Calgary since July. The list of the country’s 23-player Olympics will be announced in late December.

The Canadians will next face off against the United States next Sunday in Kingston, Ont., Followed by a rematch on November 23 in Ottawa.

“We’re really excited to be able to play in Kingston, close to my hometown, so a big family can come see,” said Bach, who hails from Milton, Ont. “With COVID-19, we haven’t had any fans, so we’re all really excited to be able to play at home and get to play against our competitors.

“We’re really looking forward to it.”
