Playmaker Emory Jones started at Gators and completed his career. Jones completed 464 yards and six touchdowns from 28/34 passes. He also ran 86 yards and one goal. In total, Jones made seven touchdowns and made 550 yards for the first time in his career.

Nevertheless, the Gators drove the Bulldogs 42-35 at halftime.

Second half
