After a few Bloody Mary, I’ll shoot all the cylinders this Sunday afternoon – OH, and by the way, Ole Miss is the tenth-ranked college football team in the country.
Yes, the Rebels (8-2, 4-2 SEC) rose to the top ten in the latest Associated Press poll, even though a really important ranking in the College Football playoffs has yet to be released. Ole Miss is the third highest SEC team after Georgia and Alabama in 1st and 2nd place.
Other SEC schools are among the top 25 Texas A&M at No. 16 and Arkansas No. 21. State of Mississippi had the most votes, not getting into the top 25 with Auburn right behind the Bulldogs.
Yeah, to make this clear, almost the entire SEC Western Division is among the top 25 and just outside of it. Definitely a rival division crazy – and there’s still a chance for a six-way draw from the series title. I’m not sure anyone knows how this would all work out, but I have a feeling we won’t find out.
Ole Miss’s next opponent is Vanderbilt in Oxford in his final home game of the season. Rebels has the opportunity to be invincible at home for the first time since 1992.
