North Carolina State Women’s Northern Arizona Wins 2021 NCAA DI Ski Championship

Let’s now look at how teams and individuals will be selected for the DI Cross Country Championships at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida.

This is how automatic qualifications are received

ELEMENT

The top two teams in each area championship will automatically be entered into the championship match.

INDIVIDUALS

For each NCAA regional meeting, the first four student-athletes who are not part of the qualifying team will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. All individual automatic qualifiers must be ranked in the top 25 in their region.

The committee decides on large beds by examining the following selection criteria in order:

1. Regional finishing
2. Wins (points) against teams already in the championship series
3. Head-to-head competition between teams under consideration
4. Saves teams under consideration against common opponents
5. Top people on the team under consideration

Taking all into account, 18 teams will automatically be entered into the championships as well as 13 big teams selected from the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee. This raises the total number of teams to 31.

As for individuals, 36 will automatically qualify for the championship by being one of the top four regional investors who do not belong to the advancing team. The committee will then select two more people for the big bids. This raises the total number of individuals to 38 per sex.
