Florida football is losing its second commitment to ESPN 300 athlete Isaiah Bond

300 ESPN athlete Isaiah Bond resigned from Florida on Monday, giving the Gators five exemptions starting Oct. 20 and two after Dan Mullen was fired on Sunday.

It’s no secret that this class didn’t match the typical level previously enlisted in Florida. The Gators had the SEC’s No. 23 and eighth best in the October rankings.

This investment is likely to collapse after the release of Bond. Bond, a 108th-ranked recruiter, is a 6-foot, 180-pound potential employee from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia.

However, this was not Bond’s last-second decision when he visited Alabama last weekend and had looked around. Bond and four-star defending defender Jamarrien Burt are so far the only two releases to Florida since Mullen’s firing, but they have added to the list that has begun to pile up.

Over the past month, Florida layoffs include ESPN 300 successor Shemar James (No. 115 recruited), ESPN 300 corner kick Julian Humphrey (No. 177) and tight-lipped CJ Hawkins.

The class has now dropped to just five ESPN 300 commitments, including broad players Chandler Smith and Jayden Gibson, quarterback Nick Evers, defender Terrance Gibbs and offensive lineman Tony Livingston. Gibson tweeted on Monday that he will remain committed to Florida, but his recruitment is open to other schools.

The program now has a total of 11 commitments in the class and about three weeks to the early signing date of December 15th.
