Tim Paine left Ashes to take an indefinite break from all the cricket

Former Australian test skipper Tim Paine has left “out of all forms of cricket” after resigning from the pre-Ashes captain.

The pressure had announced his resignation with his former colleague Cricket Tasmania last week following the “sexting scandal” that erupted in 2017.

Cricket Tasmania issued a statement on Friday about Painen’s absence from the Marsh One-Day Cup against Western Australia.

“After discussions over the past 24 hours, Tim Paine has informed Cricket Tasmania that he will be free from all forms of cricket in the near future,” Cricket Tasmania said in a statement.

“Tim’s decision will make him out of selection for today’s Marsh One-Day Cup against Western Australia. His place on the team will be taken by Charlie Wakim.

“Cricket Tasmania will continue to support Tim and his family both professionally and personally during the summer,” it added.

England and Australia will lock their horns in the five-match Ashes, which start on December 8 in Gabba, Brisbane.

Painen’s mental outage means he’s not available for his first Ashes game.

Last week, Richard Freudenstein, chairman of Cricket Australia (CA), pointed out that he could not talk about what happened in 2018, but if it had happened in 2021, the governing body would not have made the same decision with regard to Painen.
