Local tennis star Desirae Krawczyk thanks for the best season of her career

Local tennis star Desirae Krawczyk returned home this week to take part in the Indian Wells tennis world team.

And since it’s Thanksgiving Week, he’s the perfect person to profile.

It is said that gratitude is the best attitude. It’s Desirae Krawczyk, genuinely happy and grateful, grateful for what has been the most successful season of her career.

“Being in these grand slams is a dream come true and competing there and rubbing these top names is amazing. So I think it’s been really cool to do this and I’m really happy.” said Krawczyk.

It’s hard to be happy when you win three grand slam titles in one season, all in a mixed doubles game. Desirae was crowned first at Roland Garros, then at Wimbledon, which was decided by the US Open.

“The prize after the last 11 months of hard work has been amazing. It’s been amazing, and I’m grateful to be playing in these events and grateful to be involved in these finals, so yeah, it’s been amazing.”

The only slam he didn’t win was the Australian Open. He will soon have the opportunity to change that. But I had to ask him about four grand slam tournaments, what’s his favorite?

“You know, Wimbledon is just a tennis mecca. Being at Center Court was a completely insane feeling – I was just speechless. I actually walked in the wrong direction to Center Court, so I mean I was just in love. Like ‘Wow, it’s really cool to be here,’ so I think Wimbledon is my favorite.

The Australian Open is one of my favorites. I think the US Open just has the atmosphere, the atmosphere, it’s so electronic. And then you got the French Open – it was my first slam, you can’t forget the first one – so it’s just awesome, ”Krawczyk said.

Winning is great, but perhaps the most important part of it all is Desirae’s impact on others, her impact on the next generation, especially the young girls who dream of a professional tennis and possibly even one day a grand slam win.

“It’s really cool to see when I was a young kid that there are now little kids looking up at me, and it’s really cool, really special and I’m grateful,” Krawczyk said.
