IND vs. NZ 2021: Rahul Dravid pays 35,000 rupees to field men for sports field preparation: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid had reportedly paid Rs 35,000 to fieldmen for preparing the sports field for the first test against New Zealand in Green Park in Kanpur.

India and New Zealand ended the immersive test match in a draw as visitors remained steady in the final session, finishing 165 to nine.

New Zealand tail heads Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel showed a strong defense in the final nine rounds of the game to defy the Indian spinners.

India only needed one goal to seal the game, but the New Zealand Spinners blocked the balls brilliantly to prevent them from winning.

In February, after the England cricket team had toured India in a four-match test series, the hosts knocked them out 3-1. There was a lot of ugly crying in the fields that was claimed to help mainly Indian spinners.

The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) reported in a press box that Dravid had paid the fieldmen personally for the field.

“We want to make an official release. As reported by the news agency PTI, Mr. Rahul Dravid has personally paid 35,000 rubles to our countrymen, the federal government announced in a press box after the match.

Ravichandran Ashwin (3/35) and Ravindra Jadeja (4/40) bowled gorgeously in the final session to pick up the Black Caps score.

New Zealand’s opening Tom Latham had the best running points for the guests. He sewed a 76-run pedestal with William Somerville, who became a night watchman on the fourth day.

Shreyas Iyer awarded the Match Player Award

Shreyas Iyer was chosen as the player of the match, making his debut in 105 and 65 countries in India.

Iyer became the first Indian player to make one hundred and fifty in his debut test. Only the legendary Indian dough Sunil Gavaskar made two 50+ innings in his first test.
