Pure Hockey takes over the Duluth Hockey Company

DULUTH, Minn. – 23 August^rd, The Duluth Hockey Company on Maple Grove Road closed its doors and opened the next day as Pure Hockey. And although the name has changed, the services have not changed.

Pure Hockey will sell the same equipment as before, including skate equipment and repairs, and skate sharpening. But after wanting to expand into northern Minnesota, the company stopped in Duluth and decided it was the perfect place.

“They’ve been expanding their business in Minnesota for several years, and we, I believe, are their eighth store, and they wanted to get to North, Northern Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin, and North Dakota, and we’d fit them perfectly,” James Stauber, Assistant Store The manager said.

Bringing a well-known name to an area known for its species has brought positive feedback from consumers.

“This has been amazing, it’s been amazing for us, amazing for the consumer and amazing for hockey families, we just offer a lot more products and I tell people the economies of scale, the efficiencies have already proved fruitful for us,” Stauber said.

While supply chain problems have plagued many companies across the country, James Stauber believes they are in a position where they should not experience too much shortage.

“They’ve been looking for this, they’ve seen this coming and that’s why they’re very well prepared for it, and while we’re expecting some things to be in short supply, I think a company like Pure Hockey will feel the impact much less than a little mom and a pop shop, as the Duluth Hockey Company would have known. “

The store is open every day of the week except Christmas Day.
