What Devin Brown’s Commitment Means for Ohio State Football: Buckeye Recruiting

Except for the above scenario, it would probably have left the state of Ohio with only two scholarships next fall. In a perfect world, Day wants four. All under three are playing with fire.

Brown’s promise means Dayn and quarterback coach Corey Dennis reassured another national potential to buy this plan. Many programs seek elite talent every two years and may occasionally complement a solid, long-term outlook. However, Day does not want to play these odds. He wants top-class talent every year, and Brown gets a qualification.

Ranked No. 52 overall and No. 5 among quarter builders 247 national sports mix, Brown has a multi-sport background that has served well in other Day quarterback projects. The 6-3, 190-pound Brown already has a strong mechanical base and arm strength. Competing in the Elite 11 finals for at least a year, he demonstrated skill in off-platform throws and the ability to play with his arm in motion.

We can’t predict with certainty what will happen in Oho State’s quarterback room before next fall or the fall after or after. The only thing that is certain is that Day has elite options to choose from with a depth of talent at the forefront that no other Big Ten program has matched.

This is not a lineup that every competitor would want to join. However, Day addresses the best in the country to take up the challenge. Brown is just the latest, and probably not the last.
