Cowgirl Indoor Track & Field opens the 2022 season at the Wooo Pig Classic

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – The Oklahoma State men’s and women’s track teams began the 2021 indoor Wooo Pig Classic in Fayetteville, Ark. On Friday afternoon.

The afternoon was stressed Taylor Roe and Alex Stitt both set school records in the women’s 3,000-meter and men’s 1,000-meter runs.

Roe beat the previous 3,000-meter record by a tenth of a second and reached a blistering time of 8: 58.58, which also set an event record for the event. Previous character 8: 58,68 had been in the possession of Cowgirl legend Christine McMiken for over 36 years.

Cowgirl runners also competed for the first time in the OSU Indoor costume Grace Ping, Amelia Jauregui, Abby Pickett, Kristal Rodriguez and Jinah Mi.ckens-Malik.

Ping, Jauregui and Pickett each ran the mile early in the day and finished fifth, seventh and ninth, while Rodriguez ran the 1000-meter run. Mickens-Malik competed twice a day, running in both the women’s 600m and women’s 4×400 posts.

Cowgirls competitors decided Gabija Galvydyte, Lilly Lavier and Mackenzie Michael, who each ran the women’s 1000-meter run as well as the 4×400-meter message with Mickens-Malik.

Galvydyte knocked out the women’s hairline in the 1000m run and finished second with a time of 2: 46.80, which corresponded to the winning time of the event.

On the men’s side, Gabe Simonsen competed as the first individual on the OSU indoor team this season, finishing her first career career in a Cowboy suit by completing a mile in 4: 13.52.

Simonsen was followed by Stitt and Daniel Nickell, who both took part in the men’s 1000m run. Stitt’s time of 2: 21.89 broke the previous 1,000-meter limit set by Joshua Thompson in 2017. Stit was tenth followed by Nickell, who finished the event at 2: 26.64.

The 3,000-meter run was the best event of the day for the Cowboys, with Jonas Price and Will Muirhead grabbing the top two at 8:11 a.m. and 8:19 a.m.

Triston Read opened his 2022 skateboard by competing in the 600-meter run and scored 1:20.62 in 12.^th place end.

Victor Shitsama finished the events for the Cowboys and confirmed his personal record in the 5,000-meter run at 13: 58.95 on a loaded course consisting of several cross-country Americans a couple of weeks ago in Tallahassee.
