Sauk Rapids scored a power game goal at 2:13 overtime to lift Stormin past Willmar in the Central Lakes conference game at the Willmar Civic Center.
“Our friends were fighting,” Willmar head coach Jamie Hagen said. “It was a great hockey game to watch.
“We had a tough call at the end that put us in a penalty kick. We’ve been looking forward to playing for Central Lakes Conference, but we couldn’t overcome that hurdle. It was back and forth in terms of speed. Overall, it was a good hockey game.
Luke Pakkula made Sauk Rapids the winner of the game. He also gave two passes.
Willmar got goals from Ethan Stark, Elijah Van Buren, Taton Hansen and Jason Malmgren.
Malmgren’s goal equalized the third set at 9:26.
Willmar will play in Benson on Thursday against Morris / Benson Area Storm.
