Philippine Teen Tennis Sensation Alex Eala presents his gains as he recovers from injury

MANILA, Philippines – Alex Eala recovered his first win after returning to sports after an injury on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Junior Orange Bowl in Florida.

Eala won a straight draw from Charlotte Owensby in a 6-2, 6-3 opening round.

The 2nd-ranked Filipino teen tennis sensation will face Czech Kristyna Tomaykova in the second round.

Eala was sidelined for two months due to a leg injury at the US Open where he made it to the semifinals.

She returned to tennis in a women’s $ 25,000 tournament in the Czech Republic last November and is ending her season in the Florida Grade A tournament.

The 16-year-old Filipino is aiming to end her high season and has a chance to overtake Kristina Dmitruk of Belarus at the top of her career on the 2nd junior track.

This year, Eala joined a combination of high-level junior tournaments and women’s events. She won her first professional title last January in Manacor, Spain and the 2021 French Open doubles championship with Russia’s Oksana Selekhmeteva. – Rappler.com
