BYU football gets commitment from Lone Peak OL, former Virginia pledges to Joe Brown

Over the past few years, more and more high school footballers from Utah have decided to play collegially in the Virginia Cavaliers because former BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall was in the same position there.

This was a plan for the Lone Peak High offensive line for Joe Brown, who promised the Cavaliers in June, but after a sudden resignation from Mendenhall on 2 December, Brown resigned on Thursday.

As the early signing season begins on Dec. 15, some thought the timing might have left Brown in a difficult position, but on Friday night, he announced via Twitter that he was committed to BYU.

Listed by 247 Sports Weighing 6 feet 3 and £ 285, Brown also has a scholarship offer from Indiana as well as a handful of FCS schools.

Brown will be the 17th opportunity to join BYU as part of its 2022 recruitment class and the first since Weber Highs Aisea Moa turned his promise out of Utah in October.
