Vietnam Festival 2021 underway in Japan Culture – Sports

Tokyo (VNA) – The Vietnam Festival 2021 began in Tokyo, Japan on December 11, and attracted a large number of visitors.

The two-day event aims to promote Vietnamese images to Japanese friends and is part of an effort to relaunch cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Japan.

Measures to prevent the COVID-19 virus have been in place to ensure the safety of the festivals.

This is one of Tokyo’s largest annual festivals that promotes Vietnamese food and culture to the Japanese, Vietnamese and Japanese charge d’affaires Lam Thi Thanh Phuong said.

The festival was first held in Japan in 2008, when the countries celebrated the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations, he added.

Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Miyake Shingo said there are about 450,000 Vietnamese living in Japan. Vietnamese cuisine are favored by locals.

The event will feature Vietnamese and Japanese music performances.
