The ATP tennis star reveals a bold new look

If you thought the hype video was creepy, wait until you see the cut.

Bernard Tomic is apparently embarking on a return to tennis after slipping to 254th place on the ATP world list and hopefully practicing a little, he is busy on social media.

The day after he posted a short clip on his Instagram page who showed her practice and declared “it’s time to make a record straight,” Tomic has now unveiled a bold new look.

The 29-year-old has bleached his normally dark hair and published footage of himself on the barber with the text: “A New Beginning. A New Cut.”

Tomic, who rushed to the stage to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals at the age of 18, is the weakest Australian on the men’s tour.

Just five years ago, the 29-year-old ranked as high as 17th in the world, but his outside stunts have garnered more attention than his ability over the past decade.

Gold Coast police fined him three in one day in 2012, arrested him in Miami in 2015, and at a strange press conference, he only declared “counting my millions” when he didn’t make it to the 2018 Australian Open.

Tomic also has an unwanted record in men’s tennis for the fastest loss in ATP history when Jarkko Nieminen ousted him in 28 minutes and 20 seconds in Miami in 2014.

Recently, her on-off relationship with model Vanessa Sierra has seen her in headlines, including sexually suggestive images and break your laptop during an apparent moment of rage.

But now it looks like he’s ready to go on with his life on tour.

“I’ve experienced a lot of anger in my life, but I can’t give up,” Tomic said in the hype video. “You don’t think I see hate comments. It hurts.

“In the past, I let it get in my hands and reacted with stupidity.

“But now I’m using it as fuel. I’m back. I’m. I’m hungry and I’m ready.

“No one can stop me now except me. I train, I sweat, I press, I’m excited. Whatever is required to get back to the top.

“Hard work is rewarded. I put my blood, sweat and tears into this sport. I’m back in the past and it’s time to make the record straight.

As Australia’s massive summer of tennis approaches, Tomic has chosen the perfect time to try to win the nation back – although for many it may be too late,

He has to navigate a maze of Australian Open qualifiers that he didn’t make it to in 2018 and 2020.

In Melbourne Park, Tomic has only made it to the fourth round, which he achieved in 2012, 2015 and 2016.

Speaking to the Gold Coast Bulletin over the weekend, Tomic said his promising run at this year’s Australian Open rekindled “fire” inside him and hopes to make it into the top 10 within a few years.

“I had too much success when I was young,” he said.

“Everything caught up with me. Travel, day by day tournaments. At the age of 25, I was tired and started talking stupid shit in the media.

“There are so many things I shouldn’t have said, I shouldn’t have done. But I did.

“I’m going to try to turn this around and give myself the best chance in the next couple of years. I have one more chance at this. I’ll try to do it for myself.

“Now it’s about getting it right and a good breakthrough in the next five or six years and trying to get back to the top.”
