NEW DELHI: The Tennis Premier League (TPL) started its third season in a great way at The Celebration Sports Club with all COVID-19 protocols in mind.
It was a double for all tennis lovers and enthusiasts to see Tennis Legend Leander Paes and tennis icon Sania Mirza together in support of the league.
League founder Kunal Thakkur was excited about the response and said: “For me, the biggest win is seeing the entire Indian Brotherhood of Tennis supporting and collaborating to promote tennis as a sport, for which I am very grateful.” .
Co-founder Mrunal Jain added at the same time, “We’ve only gotten this far with the support of all the owners, celebrities and players and we’re looking forward to a staggering 3rd season.”
The highlight of the opening was a two-way virtual interaction from Goran Ivanisevic, Novak DJokovic’s current coach from all over Europe.
The tennis players were thrilled to hear valuable tips from the legendary coach and former Wimbledon champion. The fellowship between Goran and Leander, who came together after the 1999 French Open, was a topic of discussion. The venue was full of top Indian players and mentors.
