Bill Belichick searches for “Hard Knocks In Season” in preparation for a match against Colts

In the first episode Hard Knocks Season: Indianapolis Colts, we learn that the information that NFL teams are willing to disclose, even though it’s full of coach speech and lacks a vision for the Game Plan, won’t go unnoticed by opposing teams.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick announced Monday that the series is worth looking for something useful for his team’s preparations ahead of its Saturday night-long Colts, which will be shown exclusively on the NFL Network.

“We monitor almost everything that any team we play does. Depending on the significance or importance of this information, it will be conveyed at some point,” Belichick said. In the first episode of Colts Hard knocks in the series, as the team prepared to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Nov. 14, coach Frank Reich noted that Jaguar coach Urban Meyer made an “interesting” press conference comment that the Jaguars were evolving into a zone-based look in the secondary series.

The Jaguars had just gotten rid of the Buffalo Bills 9-6, and the clear conclusion was that the Reich believed the comment would be helpful as Colts prepared for the game, which Indianapolis won 23-17. It may have been buried at the bottom of a pile of Meyer’s mistakes, but it was enough for the Reich to notice.

Belichick, for his part, seems to intend to take advantage of any slips that the Reich might make when a Hard knocks the camera rotates.

Severe blows, , first aired in 2001, has traditionally taken fans behind the scenes of NFL training camps. However, the Colts series is the first time Hard knocks has played for the team’s midfield. Patriots have never been the subject of a program.
