When it comes to sports like cricket and tennis, desi people around the world can’t stay calm in supporting their favorite players. However, when both cricket and tennis events take place simultaneously, fans have often wondered what to watch. However, a recent viral video shows that it is possible to play both games at the same time, all you need is a good old jug.
In a video spread by the virus, four players are seen taking part in a rally – all with rackets – exchanging a red ball for the lime greens seen in tennis. Without bowlers on the ball, the game was almost like a tennis match with no racket.
Aatif Nawaz, a stand-up comedian and cricket commentator for the BBC’s Test Match Special, shared the video online with clever captions. “If tennis and cricket had a baby …” Nawaz whispered on Twitter.

While it seems like all the players are just having fun, it’s actually part of the pre-game practice. The video, originally shared by Toby Bailey, the National Performance Coach and the National Selector for Cricket Scotland, showed players from Team A of the country and players from Edinburgh Napier University Academy.
On Twitter, Bailey explained that training is the key to moving players’ legs, adding: “The game is played on a badminton court with cricket bats.” He further said the match is the best of the five matches in the tennis game format for more pressure points.

When the clip started circulating on the internet and many desi users happened to have it, they couldn’t ignore Nawaz’s comment and joked it would be the perfect game for Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik’s son. Others couldn’t stop trying this hybrid game that combines their love for both sports, but it reminded many of their childhood days when they practiced this just for fun.
