Hyderabad Strikers and Pune Jaguars had shared a common second place with 130 points after three matches.

Mumbai: Hyderabad Strikers sealed their place in the tennis Premier League (TPL) semi-finals when they won the Pune Jaguars in their final 45-35 league match here on Friday.
Shared second with 130 points after three matches, both teams are looking for a big win, and the Hyderabad outfit with their overall strength won in the end.
Hyderabad scored 175 points and sits quite a top spot, followed by the Mumbai Leon Army with 167 points, and the Pune Jaguars and Chennai Stallions are in third place with 165 points.
Two matches are yet to be played. Gujarat Panthers has 122 points and Bengaluru 118 also has an outside chance to get a rating.
In the first match of the day, the Chennai Stallions seemed to have booked their best for the last.
In fifth place on the leaderboard after three matches, they needed a big win to stay in the race for the semi-finals, and they did so by defeating the unbeaten Mumbai Leon Army 44-36.
Samantha Sharan gave Chennai a great start when she won a 12-8 loss to Sowjanya Bavisett.
Samantha ran for a 6-1 lead before two unforced errors helped Sowjanya get their way in the 6-4 half. However, Samantha continued to attack against the wings and retained his lead, winning the draw 12-8.
Siddharth Rawat then got to work, beating Ramkumar Ramanathan 13-7.
When Purav Raja and Samantha got together to defeat Niki Poonachan and Sowjanya 13-7, it seemed like the veils of Mumbai. However, Ramkumar and Niki teamed up brilliantly in the men’s doubles, winning 1-6 Raja and Rawat and to make sure that even if they lost the match, they had a slim 2-point lead after the league in Chennai.
In late games on Thursday, the Bengaluru Spartans kept their hopes alive by beating the Pune Jaguars strictly at 41-39, while the Chennai Stallions beat the Hyderabad Strikers by the same margin.
