“Indians say we don’t have players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam”: former Pakistani cricketer | Cricket

Pakistan, led by Babar Azam, maintained its dominance in a shorter form of the game and completed a clean sweep to the West Indies in the recently concluded three-match series.

In the series, Pakistan finished their highest run in the T20I as they drove down 208 over the beat. In the race, Mohammad Rizwan burned 87 balls out of 45 balls, while his opening partner and captain Babar took 79 with 79 balls when the pair scored 158 for the first door.

It was their fourth pair of over 150 players to open, all of which came in 2021. The stands were also their second-highest pair after playing 197 matches with South Africa earlier this year.

Rashid Latif, a former Pakistani cricketer who is happy with the show, compared the duo to their Indian counterpart.

“About a year ago, we used to say that there are no players in Pakistan like Virat Kohl, Rohit Sharman or KL Rahul, especially in T20 cricket. But I think after a while, the Indians will also say we don’t have such players [Mohammad] Rizwan and Babar [Azam], ”Latif has said PTV Sports.

He also praised the duo for improving the strike ratio compared to previous years.

“In the past, we also had reservations about their goal scoring, but they made up for it by synchronizing their innings perfectly,” he noted.

This was also Babar’s 20.50 plus score in T20 cricket this calendar year, which is the highest for any cricket player.
