Loi blames his nerves for his table tennis loss

Former men’s singles champion Geoffrey Loi made a brief twist at the table tennis national championships on Saturday.

Loi, who won his brother David in the last championship series, lost in the men’s singles first hit.

“I had a hard time preparing for this December championship; However, I only practice in my spare time, but otherwise my studies were my priority, said Loi, who graduated from tenth grade at Butuka Academy School two months ago.

From the village of Tubuserea in the central province, Loi said because of COVID-19, they were scheduled to practice for at least a day or two a week.

Meanwhile, even though he lost his doubles, Loi joined his brother David in the men’s doubles, where they defeated Boe Bobby and Jackson Kariko.

Loi missed out on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers and focused on her studies this year.

He was one of those athletes preparing for the wild card of the qualifiers.

The silver medalist at the 2017 Pacific Games represented PNG in the following games;
– 2014- was played in Glasgow, Scotland
– 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea
– 2017 Pacific Games Vanuatu, won silver in the men’s doubles
– 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, Australia
