The Broad Street Hockey Festivus will be postponed due to Covid

Once again, Covid is raging through the NHL and the world. This sucks guys, I can’t even clear the sentence without saying how much it sucks. Games are canceled everywhere in the league, individual teams stop working for the rest of the year, new players are added to the Covid list every hour – it’s a mess. As of this writing, tonight’s game against the Capitals has been postponed and Thursday’s game in Pittsburgh was postponed last night as the league closes until the 27th.

For the second year in a row, we will not be able to gather safely for our Festivus celebrations. Again, this sucks. But the last thing I would ever want to do is get one member of this community hurt, not to mention hundreds of you.

These two years are years when we have had to express our complaints more than ever, so I’m going to come up with a way we can do it virtually. Let me hear your complaint about Zoom – I’ll record them, and if they’re not too spicy, I’ll publish them. So try to stick to the rating of PG-13, maybe R in your complaints. And I don’t care what they have in question! This is a place where you can complain about everything that has happened to you in the last two years. My personal complaints include, “Fuck trees,” “I can’t believe my DoorDash driver opened one of my two Oreo emergency kits,” and “WHY this Flyers team can’t do it right by Claude Giroux ONCE.”
