The countdown to the highlights of 2021 continues today with the move to moment # 10 – on Friday, October 15, when BC men’s hockey returned to the Conte Forum in front of fans for the first time in 19 months.
No one really knew what to expect this fall when fans got back to places like the Conte Forum. Would students return to hockey after a year + absence? The answer was a resounding home game where the sold-out, over 7,000 crowd greeted the Eagles as they returned to beat Northeastern 5-3.
The win was an early sign of a leap from senior managers Marc McLaughlin and Pat Giles, and winning the opening match at Hockey East is always nice – but the story of the game above all on the ice was fans rocking the house and providing the best atmosphere at the Conte Forum for a long time:
It was a great reminder of how much fun the fantastic college hockey atmosphere can be – which we got to enjoy again at the first BC-BU match of the year in Agganis in December – and how hard Conte can rock when you’re entitled to it. a combination of a large audience and great home performance. Will we see more of this in 2022.
