College Football Playoff 2021: Rank of the 20 most influential players on the four-team field

The College Football playoff field is set to include three programs that have not won a national championship this millennium – 2nd Michigan, 3rd Georgia and 4th Cincinnati – and 1st Alabama, the reigning national champion. The new playoff field in 2021 will also provide new players to redefine the national championship.

The four-team field features some of the best players in the country, including Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young, Thorpe award winner Coby Bryant, Butkus award winner Nakobe Dean and Rotary Lombard winner Aidan Hutchinson. There are seven national award winners between the teams, as well as 11 players who voted for the CBS Sports All-America team.

However, this list doesn’t just list the best players. Instead, the collection below includes the players who are best prepared to change for all of their team and deliver the national championship on January 10, 2022.

Here are the 20 most impressive players in the 2021 College Football playoffs without long speeches.

Haskins is the engine that makes Michigan’s very effective attack go. The printer leads Wolverines with 261 1,288 yards and 20 touchdowns, the latter leading the Power Five. If Tide gets a scary pass-rushing duo from Michigan, Neal’s stability is a game-changing feature in game design.

Michigan’s defenders are well-known commodities, but Hill is an important playmaker at the back end. He made seven assists, 4.5 losses and a couple of cuts while playing the entire field in the Wolverines defense. Defense coordinator Mike Macdonald is willing to play at Hill on the corner, in boxing safety or free safety depending on the match. His versatility is key to Georgia – especially with Bulldogs ’tight-lipped Brock Bowers secondary.

Davis was an early Heisman Trophy candidate as the face of Georgia’s defense, but his game is more valuable than ever as UGA prepares for the playoffs in College Football. The man, who weighs in at £ 340, is perhaps the best gap-filler in college football, and his abilities are key to stopping Michigan’s elite game in the middle stages and clearing the way for Georgian supporters to wreak havoc. The Bearcats line of attack is unlikely to keep up with the defensive line of the other three playoff teams, but Ridder is good enough that it might not matter. The parent made 66% of their passes, threw 30 touchdowns and made an average of 9.0 yards per attempt. After running over 500 yards in each of its first three seasons, Ridder kept things in his pocket much more consistently in 2021. Williams has an average length of 21.3 yards per catch and has 15 touchdowns after playing both out of the slot and wide. He has earned an All-America honorable mention from several outlets after finishing 1,445 yards and 68 catches. His presence becomes infinitely more important after John Metchie III suffered an ACL rupture in the SEC title game. Williams played 120 yards in his last five of his six matches.

5. Alabama LB Will Anderson

Tide is solid at every level of defense, but Anderson is at another level. The sophomore has a whopping 92 tackles and 15.5 sacks. However, his NCAA record of 32.5 is what sets him apart. No other player has even cleared 23 TFLs after 2018. Alabama uses him not only as a pass rusher but also as a distracting chess piece in the middle and to support the run. With a slightly less effective Alabama defense than in normal years, Anderson is a star.

4. Georgia LB Nakobe Dean

Since Georgia has a lot of mass indoors, the teams plan to challenge the Bulldogs on the edge. 1. Alabama QB Bryce Young

If there was any doubt that Young could be the most influential player in college football, he stopped it during the SEC Championship. Young threw 421 yards and three touchdowns against Georgia’s previously scratch-free defense, a performance impressive enough to defeat Heisman. If Young is operating at peak potential, there may not be a team in college football that could stop the tide. When Metchie is out of season, she needs to be even better.
