Transfer of Ferran Torres: Barcelona signed Manchester City striker | Football news

Barcelona has acquired Ferran Torres from Manchester City.

The Spanish striker has joined Barca in a five-year deal until 2027, and the club has set his buyout clause at € 1 billion (£ 841,735,504.40 million).

Barca will initially pay £ 46.3 million (€ 55 million) and a further £ 8.4 million (€ 10 million) for the attack. Additions of around £ 5.9 million (€ 7 million) are said to be more or less guaranteed.

The Spanish club agreed to acquire Torres from the City the week before Christmas.

Barcelona considers the 21-year-old to be one of Spain’s most promising talents. They can consume in January after recently receiving a substantial investment through a bank loan.

The club has said Torres will be officially unveiled at Nou Camp and will attend its first exercise and press conference on January 3rd.

Torres joined City with a £ 20.8 million reward and bonuses on a five-year contract in August 2020, but has only played four times this season in the Premier League, scoring twice and once again in the Champions League.

Torres will leave Etihad Stadium, scoring 16 goals in the City’s 43 matches in all competitions. He also helped Pep Guardiola’s team in the Premier League and Carabao Cup last season.

He has been on the sidelines since October due to a leg injury he suffered during his international assignments in Spain.

City football manager Txiki Begiristain said: “Ferran should be proud of what he has achieved here in Manchester City.

“Last season was his first time in the new country, but he adapted well. He always gave 100 percent, worked hard in front of the team and scored goals that helped us win trophies.

– Unfortunately, the injury prevented him from playing more games this season, but Ferran is a player we have all enjoyed working with and we wish him all the best in Barcelona and during his final career.

Torres arrives in Catalonia with his former City teammate Sergio Aguero announced that he would retire earlier in December after being diagnosed with heart disease just months after his move to Barca.

Prior to moving to the City, Torres sparked interest in Barca, Real Madrid and some of Europe’s top clubs as a result of Valencia’s males.

A graduate of the Academy of Valencia, he made his number one debut on the team in 2017, scored nine times in 97 matches and helped them with the Copa del Rey in the 2018/19 season.
