Frenchman Benoit Paire’s preparations for next month’s Australian Open were blown away when he revealed he is back on the positive COVID-19 test.

The 32-year-old, a former top20 player, had to withdraw from the 2020 US Open after a positive test. The following month, he returned with another positive test when he arrived in Germany to play in the Hamburg Open.

“Hi, my name is Benoit Paire and I’m 250 times positive about COVID,” a frustrated Frenchman said on T-Channel.prattle.

Paire, who finished 46th, was part of a game team that had to endure 14 days of hard quarantine before this year’s Australian Open.

After his drop in the first round, Paire blamed the organizers and said the quarantine conditions for the players had been “shameful”.

“Last year was hard, and this year is starting in exactly the same way !!” he tweeted on wednesday.

Paire, who was vaccinated last month, expressed support for the Australian Open organizers ’mandate that all competing players and entrants be vaccinated or that an independent panel of experts grant them a medical exemption.
