College Football Playoff National Championship Game: Alabama-Georgia Preview, Watch and More

Alabama and Georgia will face in the college football national championships on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The national championship match is a SEC Championship rematch in December and also a 2017-18 national championship rematch between the two schools where Tua Tagovailoa got back and Crimson Tide won the game in extra time 26-23.

Alabama will play their fifth national championship after the dawn of the College Football playoffs. The team won Cincinnati in the semifinals to get here. There is only one mistake in the record for Crimson Road, led by Bryce Young, the winning quarterback for the Heisman Trophy – a shock to Texas A&M.

Young, a sophomore, has entered 4503 yards and 46 touchdowns this season. He leads an attack dominated by Brian Robinson Jr., who has rushed to get 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns, and Jameson Williams, who has 75 catches from 1,507 yards and 15 touchdowns. John Metchie III leads the team in the receptions with 96 and has 1,142 yards and eight touchdowns, but he may not be playing in the championship due to injury.

Lineback Henry To’oTo’o leads the team with 105 tackles and second linebacker Will Anderson Jr. has become strong this season with 17.5 verses. Several of Alabama’s defensive defenders are tied for three abductions – DeMarcco Hellams, Jalyn Armor-Davis and Jordan Battle.

Georgia’s defense is one of the toughest in college football.

The Bulldogs ’loss to Alabama last month was the only one of their season and the 41 points they allowed in the loss was the highest they allowed in the entire season. Before that, Tennessee’s victory of 41-17 was 17 points.

Linebacker Nakobe Dean leads the team with 69 tackles and he leads with six sacks. Alabama will also have to contend with Jordan Davis, who ended his seniority as the winner of the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy.

Georgia must resort to Stetson Bennet to take the attack to the next level to get past Alabama. Bennett have 2,638 yards and 27 touchdowns this season. Runningback Zamir White has 772 plunge yards and 10 plunge goals. James Cook ran 651 running yards and seven touchdowns. Tight Brock Bowers leads the team with 52 846 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Overall, Alabama’s dominance over college football has been the most talked about. Nick Saban is aiming for his seventh championship as Crimson Road’s head coach and 16th place in school history. Georgia has not won a national championship since 1980. Winning Alabama would be a big shock.
