Novak Djokovic breaks the silence about suspected COVID-19 violations

Novak Djokovic has answered additional questions about his right to stay in Australia and asks if his December positive COVID-19 result has been manipulated.

Questions about the results have arisen from inconsistencies in the timing of the PCR test and around the result itself.

According to Age magazine, while the Australian government is aware of the inconsistencies, it is still unclear whether it will be taken into account by Alex Hawke, the immigration minister who has not yet completed the world’s number one visa on Wednesday night.

Hawke was expected to make his decision on Wednesday, but additional information provided by Djokovic’s legal team has further shortened the process.

Inconsistencies in Djokovic’s PCR tests were first revealed in the German publication Der Spiegel. According to the publication, when scanning a QR code from a test performed by Djokovic on December 16, the result was negative, before a secondary scan an hour later returned a different result.

Robert Potter, CEO of cyber security company Internet 2.0, confirmed the inconsistencies in The Age magazine.

“I can’t interpret the medical implications, but I would say there is enough evidence to question the credibility of his papers on the positive test he submitted to the Australian government,” Potter said.

“The timestamp contained in his positive test QR code does not match the paperwork submitted. However, his negative test timestamp corresponds to the papers he submitted. As long as you are sure that the QR codes you send me match the Australian government, I am sure Djokovic has legitimate questions to answer. “
