Alabama Crimson Tide Football Roster Tracker for 2022; Transfer portal

As the 2021 university football season draws to a close, the annual staff carousel will come to life.

In November, the DB was finally unplugged Marcus Banks‘time in Tuscaloosa. He later pledged to move State of Mississippi. WR Xavier Williams will return to Tuscaloo next fall. However, it will be a member of the visiting state of Utah.

At the end of the regular season LB Jackson Bratton and OL Pierce Quick were the next two Tide players to hit the transfer portal. Quick has already announced that he is on his way Georgia Tech. Bratton has not yet decided on its future, although rumors are circulating about UAB.

This week, several Tide players also announced their move intentions.

1. QB Paul Tyson (completed year with 3 RS) – uncertain return
2. OLB King Mwikuta (Year 3, not RS) – Reported to the State of Arkansas
3. OLB Drew Sanders (Year 2, no RS) – Texas debate
4. OL Tommy Brown (Year 4 with RS)
5. AT Jahleel Billingsley (Year 3, no RS)
6. WR Javon Baker (Year 2, no RS)
7. Pound Jaylen Moody (Year 4, no RS)
8. Pound Shane Lee (Year 3, no RS)

While that’s unlikely, the chances of any players returning to Alabama still exist, as we saw with Mwikuta last year.

Thursday LB Jaylen Moody joined the refugee, but he has different circumstances. Back in Nov. 20, Crimson Tide honored several players at the “Senior Day” event before playing in Arkansas. Below is a complete list of the winners with comments from a previous release.

Christopher Allen – (Fifth year, three full seasons plus two years injured) A novice line player who was expected to be a big year. Suffered a seasonal final injury in the season opener against Miami. Healthy, he could be an assistant somewhere.

Josh Jobe – (Fourth year, all full seasons) Became a full-time cornerback platform in 2020. He has had some problems on the field this season and has been replaced by freshman Kool-Aid McKinstry on Saturday.

Phidarian Mathis – (Fifth year, four seasons plus red shirt) Became a full-time line of defense beginner in 2020. There is little profit on return, should get NFL draft.

Jaylen Moody – (fourth year, full season) A favorite of fans as a linebacker who never got much of a chance to start. Could still be a valuable contributor or starter in Alabama or any other team next year.

Chris Owens – (Sixth year) No longer eligible.

Kendall Randolph – (Fifth year, four seasons plus red shirt) Part-time start as a braking tight-head / fifth tackle.

LaBryan Ray – (Fifth year, four seasons plus red shirt) Injuries make his entire career difficult. The former 5-star is a healthy starter on the defensive line, but doesn’t pull very high, if at all.

Brian Robinson – (Fifth year, all full seasons) No longer eligible.

Major Tennison – (Fifth year, four seasons plus a red shirt) Forgotten tight head who has seen very little playing time this season.

Daniel Wright – (Fifth year, four seasons plus red shirt) Became a beginner in the second in 2020 but lost his job by the end of the season. Filled this season and played a lot in all four seasons.

One would assume that the participation of these players in the “Senior Day” celebrations were pretty good indicators that none of them would return to Tuscaloo for Super-Senior seasons, even if they could land elsewhere. Jobe and Mathis have already announced the NFL draft. The current Super-Seniors, Robinson and Owens are now completely positively absent from college eligibility.

NEXT MAN UP

Normally at this time of year there would be recruitment stories on the front page of RBR, but there is nothing to tell about them. All in all, it looks like Saban has gotten in to recruit high school students for the 2022 class – though a surprise or a couple might come.

There are 13 early registrants in Alabama, including upcoming superstars EDGE Jeremiah Alexander and QB Ty Simpson.

In addition to the country’s 2nd recruitment class, Crimson Tide has already rescued the dynamic multi-purpose Jahmyr Gibbs Georgia Tech and former All-Freshman defensive defender Eli Ricks from LSU. Both transfers have signed up for Capstone and are working with the team. Tidal fans could see Nick Saban will continue to dive into the transfer pool in the coming weeks and months.

CHANGES IN MANUFACTURE

So far, only cornerbacks coach Jay Valai has left Tide’s coaching staff. New Sooners head coach Brent Venables stated that Valai will serve as Oklahoma Joint Defense Coordinator / Feeder and will train both corner and nickel defenders.

Valai was the primary recruiter for the 4-star RB Jamarion Miller and secondary in the 4-star DB Earl Little. However, he also got some high-profile views, including a 5-star WR Evan Stewart and 5 star DB Denver Harris both signed an agreement with Texas A&M. The year 2021 was Valain’s only season at Tide’s headquarters.

According to rumors, Bama WR coach Holmon Wiggins Notre Dame took revenge on it. As a result, he received a pay raise to stay in Alabama.

Crimson Tide OC Bill O’Brien has been linked to some NFL openings, particularly in Jacksonville. He was said to have interviewed Jages on Wednesday, but has been terribly quiet ever since.
