Tech Takeaways: A Review of Hokies ’62-59 victory over NC State

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech made a bold effort down the road last night against NC State to earn their second ACC win with as many companies.

The overall theme in Hockey’s last two victories is their dominance in the finish line. Tech scored more than 30 points in a goal in their second consecutive game, winning 6-1.

CONTROL THE GLASS

• Hokies assembled on the boards against the clinic Wolfpack, who is third in the league in terms of rebounds. Tech dominated the glass 37-26.
• Justyn Mutts and Keve Aluma was responsible for 20 of Tech’s 37 rebounds, which was the peak of the season in the ACC races.
• NC State’s 26 rebounds were the lowest throughout the season, with Dereon Seabron, the league’s second-leading rebound, splitting the lowest rebound of the season with five.

• In the last two NC State games, Virginia Tech has limited Wolfpack to score an average of 17.5 points in the first half and shoot 25 percent off the field.
