Womens Tennis Fall in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Central Tennessee women’s tennis (1-3) will lose both games in Nashville against Vanderbilt (1-0) 0-7 and Belmont (1-0) 1-5.

The Blue Raiders spent the day 33 miles up on I-24, competing in two real road games against Commodores and Bruins. MT and Vanderbilt played a perfect doubles match and played all three doubles and six doubles. Against Belmont, the coaches decided to compete in a duel only before the match.

Commodores cleared the Blue Raiders, winning all three doubles fields to get the lead in doubles. In singles, Middle Tennessee dropped all six courses and gave VU 7-0.

Against Belmont, Zani Barnard took his second personal win on the Blue Raider top field this season in three innings 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Junior Muskan Gupta took his opponent to three rounds, but eventually fell 5-7, 6-4, 1-6. Senior Lee Barnard also fell in three installments 2-6, 6-4, 3-6. The Bruins won three other singles games over the Blue Raiders, giving Belmont the first win in Middle Tennessee program history.
