Tigers adds former Oklahoma St CB Jarrick Bernard

Transfers will only continue as LSU Tigers adds another corner kick to the 2022 lineup. The team announced that former Oklahoma State corner defender Jarrick Bernard-Converse will play for the final year at a university in his home state. The Shreveport native returns to Boot with four years of Cowboys.

Bernard-Converse played in 49 matches in Oklahoma State during his four seasons. He recorded a total of 195 tackles, 7.5 TFLs, four sacks, two abductions, 24 defensive passes and one forced brawl.

When LSU lost Derek Stingley Jr., Eli Ricks, Cordale Flott and Dwight McGlothern, the team moved to work on the portal. Tigers added Bernard-Converse, Greg Brooks Jr. and Mekhi Garner as corner defenders. The team also acquired four-star corner defender Laterrance Welch in the 2022 recruitment class.

The young station group has suddenly become a veteran group with three corner kicks added. Bernard-Converse and Garner are likely to try to take the limit, while Brooks is considered the nickel corner kick of this defense.

Bernard-Converse brings more size to the position and he also brings physicality. He was rated a three-star potential in the 2018 recruitment class at Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport. Another solid addition to the 2022 team, which now has as many as 12 transfers and 13 high school commitments.

Tigers still has seven seats left.
