If Sunday is even half as good as Saturday at TPC Sawgrass, we’re in for a treat as the 2022 Players Championship starts to find its footing. Saturday was insane as players completed Round 1 and some of Round 2 in Winds as strong as 30-40 miles per hour. And while that’s not expected on Sunday (10-25 mph is the projection), it’s going to be brutally cold at the start of the round.
Tommy Fleetwood will be on the fourth hole when play resumes at 8:15 am ET; he co-leads with Tom Hoge at 6 under. The guy to watch on Sunday morning, though, will be the tournament favorite for Jon Rahm, who is currently 3 under and still has 54 holes to play. He completely missed the worst of the weather on Saturday and is now in the driver’s seat to get his first win of the year.
Round 2 should finish up early in the afternoon on Sunday with Round 3 starting after the cut is made. That third round will spill into Monday morning before (hopefully!) The entire tournament finishes up on Monday evening just before sunset.
