Table Tennis – A tool for social inclusion

Living with a Handicap, especially if it is moral, prevents personal development. The organization Ping pour tous, in Collaboration with the urban municipality of Antananarivo (CUA), continues to surf on its three objectives: to make table tennis a lever for sustainable development in health, education and social inclusion.

Social inclusion is the second theme of the program conveyed by Ping pour tous. It is about opening up opportunities for all who feel marginalized by society and tackling systemic and Deeply rooted inequalities in society.

The persistent discrimination and exclusion that strikes the most marginalized must be tackled while the victims require the help of all. Social inclusion is one of the issues faced by the AUC.

To fight against it, Ping pour tous intervenes through the practice of table tennis as a sport accessible and practicable by all and uses it as a Creator of links. For Dorat Rakotoarisoa, secretary general of Ping Pong for all, pointed out that “the practice of sport through table tennis opens a new path towards the social reintegration of young people who fall into juvenile delinquency. The target environment is children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the practice of sport, we focus on the human aspect, ”he concludes.

Table tennis is a way for the beneficiaries to be reintegrated into their respective environment, while opening up new horizons by giving them new prospects for the future, confidence that promotes their self-esteem. The method is simple, an inclusive approach based on the practice of table tennis. She shows how the way to play this sport, the way to discuss during the game or the meeting is a way to banish the wall of isolation.

The table tennis conveyed by Ping pour tous is a means that facilitates social rapprochement.
