The national table tennis team has been forced to remain in the Dominican Republic for another night after they were left stranded at the airport following the cancellation of their flight as a result of the Strike by Jamaica’s air traffic controllers.
The team to the Caribbean Table Tennis Youth Championships was due to arrive on Thursday afternoon but Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA) President Andrew Read said the team will have to remain in the Dominican Republic until at least Friday as they seek help to return home.
The 20-member contingent, however, has received some help from organizers in the Dominican Republic. Read also noted that the Ministry of Sport has also stepped in.
