Trio From Women’s Tennis Honored in All-Conference Awards

BRUNSWICK, MAINE – A trio of Bowdoin Women’s tennis players have been recognized with the New England Small College Athletic Conference Post-Season Awards.

First-year Jamilah Karah (Berkeley, Calif.) Was named Second Team All-NESCAC for singles, while the sophomore duo of Hannah Buckhout (Weston, Mass.) And Elizabeth Yu (Edison, NJ) earned Second Team doubles honors.

Karah played the entirety of the season at number one for the Polar Bears and posted a .500 record in the spring, including a three-set win against Middlebury. During the fall season, Karah qualified for the ITA Cup after finishing as a runner-up in the New England Championship.

The sophomore pairing of Buckhout and Yu played the majority of the season as Bowdoin’s number two doubles team. Buckhout and Yu went 7-3 in the NESCAC matches this spring, including a season sweep of Tufts and a tight win over Williams.
