Table tennis: The Champion team in D2 in the Caves

The 2021-2022 season is ending in style for Caves Leucate Table Tennis (CLTT).

Team 2, made up of Christian Varin, Stéphane Labaume, Renaud Vezzaro, Frédéric Lescot and Ludovic Cazaban, after a great season, finished 1st in its category and was thus Aude Champion.

Joey Gomez Labaume wins the title of Champion of Aude in less than 13 years for his 1st participation.

Three teams were entered for the departmental championship this season : team 1, composed of Nicolas Mourrut, Alain Duplissy, Bruno Annest and Matéo Praljak, in departmental 1, remains in its division. Team 2 (mentioned above) in departmental 2, thanks to its beautiful 1st place, goes up to departmental 1.

Team 3, made up of Aline Marty, Sébastien Gelard, Cendrine Garrido, Claude Schmitt, Vincent Laurent, Yves Le Gratiet and Didier Ching, finished last in their group but remained in this division.

The departmental committee of Aude organizes a youth Championship by team of 2 and Recreation ping to play with opponents of the same level and discover table tennis. In the youth Championship, Ugo Canaveilles and Joey Gomez Labaume shone in group 3 by ranking 1st twice and were thus able to move up to group 2 where they finished 2nd. For recess, Manon and Pierre Lescot, Basile Petit and Timéo Esteve took part in two mornings where they came out delighted and rewarded. A fairly satisfactory sports record for the club which could not have a perfect training with the restrictions linked to the covid.

Next meeting at the foyer of Caves, Saturday June 4 with a Discovery stage and Initiation to the day with a shared lunch.
