TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) Petra Hule, who has already been named as the ITA Southeast Regional Senior of the Year, has been named an All-American for the 2022 season by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Hule completed her senior campaign as the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Singles Tournament and ranked No. 7 in the final ITA ranking of the year.
The Honor of earning the All-American title from the ITA is bestowed on student-Athletes that earn the top 16 seed in the NCAA singles Championship, advance to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championship, or finish in the top 20 of the final ITA singles rankings.
Hule is just the third two-time All-American (and first since 1996) in Florida State history. She has now earned All-American honors in doubles (in 2020) and in singles (in 2022). Hule joins Audra Brannon (1993, doubles; 1994 singles) and Lori Sowell (1995 and 1996 singles) as the only players in Seminole history to earn All-America honors multiple times during their careers.
Hule led the Seminoles to the NCAA Championship for the fourth time in her five-year career in 2022. Florida State reached the Round of 32 with a Victory over FIU in the first round of the NCAA Championships. Hule helped the Seminoles to two Elite 8 Appearances (2019 and 2022) during her career.
Im truly honored to have two All-American titles next to my name as my time at FSI closes out, said Hule. Im Lucky to share one of those with Vic (Allen).
