Bretenoux. 3rd edition of the national table tennis tournament

On Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 September, in the Bretenoux-Biars sports complex, the Bretenoux table tennis club is organizing its 3rd edition of the national “Lot of spin” tournament. This competition will welcome beginner players and members of the French top 1,000 who will rub shoulders throughout the weekend. To find out more about this great tournament and tournament, we met the president of the club, Fredric Lherm.

What would you say to the notoriety of this edition of the “Lot of spin” and what do you expect from it?

This is the 3rd edition of a national tournament, which is starting to be well known. On the two previous editions, each time more than 120 players from all over France responded to the invitations received. Among them, Oba Kizito, Ivorian international, 132nd player in the world today. He is 27 years old and is the winner of the 1st edition. The second was won by Guillaume Alcayde player from Istres, currently 133rd French player. The tournament will be held at the Bretenoux/Biars sports complex, which will offer the best reception conditions. Our wish for this event is to perpetuate it, that it counts in the French table tennis landscape. At the local level, it is an excellent vehicle for promoting our club and meeting new players.

How will the competitions take place?

To give everyone a chance, 16 tables are set up: doubles, players with low rankings, all categories, hardbat, Handicap matches: the lowest ranked players start with a point lead. It is possible to participate in several tables. It is endowed with 3,500, divided between the 4 best classified in each table as well as prizes in the form of equipment.

Tell us about your club?

The club will take the opportunity to hold an open weekend. The public will be able to meet the players. The club has about 40 players. It has a school and 4 teams registered in the departmental and regional championships. It is in a good dynamic and is not Elitist all and all are welcome. Sessions and team matches are held at the COSEC.
