Womens Golf: Macalester Takes Second at Georgianni Blugold Invite

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. The Macalester College Women’s golf team finished second at the Georgianni Blugold Invite, Hosted by UW-Eau Claire at Wild Ridge Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday. The Scots had a two-round team score of 326, 13 strokes behind UW-LaCrosse and 27 strokes ahead of third-place Saint Benedict.

First year Bailey Lengfelder (Renton, Wash./Hazen), who led after the first round with a score of 75, finished in a tie for fourth with a two-round score of 159. Fellow first years Scarlett Liu (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Preparatory) and Sydney Ohr (Prospect Heights, Ill./John Hersey) placed 13th and 14th, respectively. Junior Phebe Chen (South Barrington, Ill./Barrington) tied for 30th, while Emily Bruce (Orleans, Ontario/Ashbury College) made it four first years in the Scots’ top five with a 35th-place finish.

Next up for Macalester is the D3 Classic on Sept. 17-18 at Emerald Greens in Hastings, Minn.
