Roger Federer wants to bring down the curtain on his Spectacular career in a “super special” match alongside Rival Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup in London on Friday. But before the match, he shared a video of himself playing table tennis in a tuxedo. “Just a quick warm-up before the gala,” Federer wrote in the post.

Since being shared, the video has amassed more than 5 million views and more than 216,000 likes. Netizens flooded the comments section with heart emojis and called Federer a “legend”.

One user wrote: “My favorite athlete of all time, I loved seeing this Swiss Master with Elegance and such a likeable character and personality.” Another said: “Give him any racket, his hand-eye coordination is unbelievable.”

A third jokingly commented, “A new career in table tennis is coming.” A fourth added: “Wow! Even TT is a Joy to watch you play. Those wrist and hand movements! Just unmatched!”

Roger Federer will retire from the sport after the Laver Cup, with Team Europa taking on Team World at the O2 Arena in London. He will only play once, teaming up with Nadal in doubles. The pair will play against Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

Before the match, Federer also shared a photo with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. In the picture, the four were seen dressed to head to the Gala at Somerset House.

“Dinner with some friends,” Federer captioned the post. Within hours, the image garnered more than 400,000 likes and 40,000 retweets.
