Port Moody hockey Coach jailed for child porn, luring and extortion

An Unnamed former hockey Coach in Port Moody has been sent to jail for three and a half years for child pornography, child luring and extortion.

Port Moody police opened the investigation into the local Coach in September 2019 on allegations of luring children and child porn.

Officers met with a number of people and identified a large number of victims, many of whom had had direct contact with the suspect.

The coach, who cannot be identified because of a court-imposed publication ban, pleaded guilty to importation and distribution of child pornography, possession of child porn, telecommunication with intent to lure a child under 18 and extortion.

Earlier this month, he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.

Numerous investigators worked tirelessly on this matter, said Const. Sam Zacharias in a release.

The complex investigation spanned multiple provinces and states, and determined that well over 200 youth had been unknowingly exploited.
