Mercury Roundup (Sept. 24): Owen J. Roberts field hockey comeback falls short against Wilson

Owen J. Roberts took a 5-3 non-league loss to Wilson on Saturday. Trailing 3-0 at halftime, Maddie Tillou put the Wildcats on the board with the help of Emily Morrissey. Grace Chisholm retaliated for Wilson with a goal off Erika Culp.

Mira Smolij scored the next goal for Owen J. Roberts on an assist from Ava Clemson. Jess Slaymaker cut the game to one goal after a look from Evie Wolters. Erika Culp scored an unassisted goal to put Wilson up by two scores once more.

Owen J. Roberts was outshot 15-14 and took seven Corners as opposed to nine from Wilson. Catherine Wolf came up with 11 saves in net for Wilson while Katja Larsen also made 11 saves for the Wildcats.
