I promise I didn’t copy and paste last week’s gradebook and repurpose it for this week, although regular readers will recognize some familiar language. Michigan State’s 34-7 loss to Minnesota on Saturday Featured many of the same elements as last week’s setback at Washington.
The Spartans fell behind early, couldn’t get their defense off the field and went almost nowhere when they attempted to run the ball – again. In two games against Power 5 competition, MSU has been crippled by the same issues. This time, in Spartan Stadium, the crowd thinned out, and those who stayed voiced their displeasure with occasional boos.
Next week’s trip to Maryland, with its high-powered passing attack, suddenly looks a lot more daunting.
