AP Top 25: Where is Ohio State football on Nathan Baird’s Week 10 ballot? College rankings

COLUMBUS, Ohio Historically, my Associated Press Top 25 ballot fairly closely mirrors the top of the College Football Playoff rankings.

I imagine that won’t be true with Tuesday’s first playoff seeding reveal. My opinion on Ohio State football has not changed much. After facing down its most beatable moment a five-point road deficit against a really good Penn State team OSU surged to lead by 20 a few minutes later. The resume was not weakened.

Tennessee, though, has a strong case to be No. 1 in the first reveal, based on an abundance of quality wins. The committee may even anoint Georgia, whose 49-3 Victory over Oregon to open the season still stands up as perhaps the most impressive of the season, based on what we know about the Ducks now.

Regardless, Tuesday’s reveal will quickly be erased by what happens next weekend. The Winner of Tennessee-Georgia will be No. 1 in the playoff rankings and probably No. 1 is my ballot as well. Its not Ohio States fault that Wisconsin and Iowa have been so terrible, but the teams who are actually beating the other best teams in the country must be recognized.

I don’t look at my previous ballot when filling out each week’s vote. This weeks reassessment Flipped my 2-4 teams, though. Tennessee has to be No. 2 after whooping Kentucky. I think the Georgia-Michigan resumes are kind of a wash, but all the performance metrics favor the Bulldogs, so that broke my tie. Nothing the Wolverines did wrong, exactly.
