Mankad in Kew vs St Bernards OC Victorian Subbies match, Sub-District, video, what happened, run-out by bowler

A fresh Mankad drama has erupted in Victorian Subbies Cricket after a bowler for St Bernards OC took advantage of the controversial rule against Kew.

Kew opener Andrew Chalkley was run out by St Bernards bowler Kyle Adams in Sunday afternoons match after he walked too far out of the crease during the bowlers run-up, with video of the incident quickly spreading on social media.

In September the ICC changed several rules including the running out of a non-striker encroaching out of his crease moving from the Unfair Play section of the rules to the Run Out section.

The dismissal was famously dubbed a Mankad named after the India bowler who ran out Australia batsman Bill Brown in the 1948 Sydney Test, and has ignited debate just about every time it has been used since then.

There was a similar incident in Victorian grade Cricket earlier this year when a Mankad won the game.

On Sunday the reactions of players and spectators in the stands could clearly be heard on the live stream.

Stay in your crease, simple! one man could be heard yelling. Very simple, stay in your crease!

But another screamed: Youre an embarrassment to sub-district cricket!

One spectator, clearly supporting Kew, declared: F***ing s**t club if thats f***ing acceptable.

Despite Copping the Mankad, Kew went on to win the one-day game by four wickets.
