Relentless Casper Ruud proved he never really has an off-season when a leaked ad appeared to be promoting Norway offering Tennis lessons in the Maldives. World No. 3 Ruud now imparts his wisdom with the bat to lucky guests while taking a break of his own from competing on a luxurious island.

Ruud recently jetted off to South America with friend and childhood hero Rafael Nadal for a six-stop exhibition tour as the pair wowed fans following their stellar ATP tour. The 23-year-old lost in a season-ending ATP Finals showdown against Novak Djokovic as he capped off a season of narrow but huge progress.

The ATP final was one of four major finals Ruud reached in 2022, as he was also runner-up at the French Open, US Open and Miami Open, and won three lesser titles of his own.

And after losing to the dominant Djokovic in Turin, Ruud, a product of Nadal’s tennis academy in Mallorca, played the legendary Spaniard in front of adoring crowds in places including Mexico City, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile and Brazil.

“Velaa Private Island – the world’s most exclusive and luxurious resort invites all tennis lovers to private lessons with the real champion: Casper Ruud”, travel agency Travel Trade Maldives also published.

Ruud has had a hectic tennis schedule after spending two weeks traveling around South America with Nadal, whom he has criticized for his rise in the elite ranks of professional tennis.

“You can learn everything from Rafa, from any hitting to mentality and professionalism,” Ruud said when the duo stopped in Ecuador for one of their exhibition matches. “When I arrived at the academy, I was surprised by the intensity of each practice and it has helped me increase the intensity I put into each practice.”

Ruud will soon focus on his own preparation for the new season and is the favorite for the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open, which starts on January 16 in Melbourne.
