Father and son win prize at UT-Tribun Bali Table Tennis Championships 2022, UT dominates

TRIBUN-BALI.COM, GIANYAR A surprise happened at the Open University Tribun Bali Table Tennis Championship 2022, which produced a unique champion namely a father and son pair who won the U 90+ Senior Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles categories.

In addition to this, the table tennis athletes of the Open University also dominated the inter-student series in the tournament, which officially ended on Sunday 11 December 2022 at GOR Kebo Iwa Gianyar Bali.

The tight competition in this tournament proves that the UT Tribun Bali Table Tennis Championship is not an arbitrary championship and has a chance to become a national and even international prestigious tournament.

This was directly felt by the table tennis family, father and son, who both won the UT Tribun Bali table tennis championship, i.e. Putu Tedja Lazuardi and Gede Ardika.

Putu Tedja Lazuardi won the senior men’s singles title, while his father Gede Ardika, partnered with Ronald Raung, won the U 90+ men’s doubles as part of the PRG Tribun Bali team.

The fight was very tough until the final, none of the participants were below average, they had to focus and not let their guard down, thank God they can win now, said Tedy in a meeting with Bali Tribune after the distribution of medals.

Tedy’s name is no stranger to Bali’s table tennis world, he has won Porprov and other championships.

According to him, participating in the UT-Tribun Bali Table Tennis Championships is very important in implementing strategies and measuring strength for the next events, the closest of which is PON Aceh-North Sumatra.

Hope, of course, this championship will play a role in making achievements again towards PON Aceh, he said.

Meanwhile, it turns out that his father, Gede Ardika, a Balinese table tennis legend, reveals that his table tennis skills at a young age will remain in his old age.
